August 1, 2015 - 2015 Center of the Nation Sale Report
June 28, 2015 - We had a nice time at the first American Polypay Sheep Association sponsored sale held at Arlington, Wisconsin in June. We consigned a yearling ram RP4141 who brought $1000 at the sale. We are preparing to head to Spencer for the NSIP sale July 25, 2015. We are consigning a full brother to RP4141, another yearling ram and 3 ewe lambs.
January 26, 2015 - We are again getting ready for another lambing season, our older main group of ewes should start lambing on Feb 12th. Our ewe lambs should start on April 1st. We will be shearing the older ewes sometime around the first week in February depending on the weather.
We are quite excited as always to see our new prospects. We used four different rams this year. Rams RPA134 and RPB131 are probably two of the thickest easy keeping rams we have ever raised. Combined with CAK daughters with their high indexes should make a good combination of numbers and phenotype.
September 6, 2014 - We are getting ready for breeding season, rams will begin their work in mid September. We are getting our raw wool processed soon and will begin marketing a few different wool products here soon.
2014 - ninth annual Center of the Nation Sale at Spencer Iowa.
We are planning on going to the sale again this year and bringing a nice pen of three "Dos" ewe lambs and two nice "Cak" ram lamb prospects.
July 30, 2011 - Sixth Annual Center of the Nation Sale, Spencer, IA
Refshaw Ranch purchased ECP 6X a "Numero Uno" son and we are very excited to get some daughters of his working in our flock. We are sticking with the Spanish theme and have named him "Señior Dos"! His current EBV's: Mwwt = 3.0, Wwt = 3.4, Pwwt = 7.6, NLB = 12% and NLW = 7%. His Maternal Index is a 112.5.
February 21, 2011 - We officially began lambing last night with a nice set of triplets. Jeremy sheared last weekend with a little bit of family help. We are already reserving ewe lambs so if you are interested please let us know.
